Job Description
The ideal candidate for the Plan Check Engineer position will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in wet utilities design or plan checking. This role involves overseeing the technical review of developer submittals for water and wastewater utility projects in the Rancho Cucamonga area on a part-time basis (approximately 20 hours per week).
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough reviews of work conducted by Technicians involved in plan checking developer submittals for water and wastewater utility projects related to residential construction.
- Ensure that all technical documentation, engineering plans, and calculations adhere to established standards and specifications.
- Interact directly with developers regarding easement concerns, technical submittals, and engineering issues.
- Validate calculations provided by developer engineering consultants for accuracy and compliance.
- Act as a liaison with local agencies to guarantee alignment and compliance with regional standards and regulations.
Job Requirements

- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in the design, plan checking, or review of wet utility projects, focusing on water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from a reputable college or university in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Preferred: Possession of a valid California Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Authorization to work permanently in the United States without time restrictions, sponsorship needs, or any other limitations.
- Hold a valid California Driver’s License and maintain proof of insurance.
