Job Description
The Electrical Engineer selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in wastewater treatment that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer that has 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering related to wastewater treatment plants and facilities to work a hybrid schedule and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week). Work sites are in the Van Nuys and Los Angeles areas.
Projects may include:
- Advanced Water Purification Facilities (AWPF)
- Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) for treatment plants
As an Electrical Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Leads planning, research, and verification of electrical design modifications for electrical and instrumentation systems at a Water Reclamation Plant.
- Provides professional electrical engineering support, including power monitoring, energy conservation programs, feasibility studies, preventive maintenance procedures, arc flash and relay coordination studies, and control systems design.
- Supports the design of Advanced Water Purification Facilities (AWPF) and various upcoming Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) at two plant locations.
- Collaborates with electricians and instrument mechanics on inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of plant electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Prepares and reviews detailed engineering reports and complex relay coordination and integration studies to optimize system performance.
- Investigates electrical failures, reviews power billing issues, and addresses other instrumentation-related concerns.
- Update existing electrical plans/matching as-builts with field conditions, planning projects to maintain longevity, responding to and reviewing electrical related RFIs and submittals on ongoing construction projects.
- Develops and delivers presentations with recommendations on electrical/instrumentation failures, system improvements, and proposed modifications to Plant and executive stakeholders.
Job Requirements
As an Electrical Engineer, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering
- Preferred: electrical engineering experience related to various wastewater treatment plants or industrial sized facilities
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
