Job Description

The Senior CIP Engineer selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in capital improvement water infrastructure projects that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for a Senior Engineer that has 15+ years of experience with reservoir projects to work on-site and part-time (approximately 20 hours per week) in the Rancho Santa Margarita area.

  • Reservoir Projects

As a Senior CIP Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and analyze existing reservoir data, including geotechnical studies, planning reports, sizing and siting analyses, and dive/condition assessment reports.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for engineering and consulting services.
  • Oversee planning, design, and construction of reservoir projects, including updates, improvements, and replacements.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project goals, schedules, and budgets are met.
  • Monitor project progress, review technical documents, and provide engineering guidance throughout project phases.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, district standards, and industry best practices.

Job Requirements

As a Senior CIP Engineer, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 15+ years of engineering experience in water infrastructure, especially reservoir siting, upgrades, improvements, and maintenance assessments.
  • Preferred: Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
