Job Description

The Wastewater Project Engineer selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in wastewater construction projects that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for a Project Engineer that has 10+ years of experience in engineering to work hybrid (on-site and remote) and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) in the Los Angeles County area - some night work and overtime as required by the project. 

Projects may include:

  • Sewer Construction and Rehabilitation Projects
  • Landfill and Treatment Plant Projects
  • Electrical Power Distribution Projects

As a Wastewater Project Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing construction activities
  • Investigating and resolving construction and engineering problems
  • Reviewing and negotiating contractors' extra work claims and change proposals
  • Reviewing construction project schedules
  • Tracking work progress and preparing pay estimates
  • Evaluating the impact of project progress on Districts' operations and making recommendations on any necessary course of action
  • Coordinating with other Districts' departments and other agencies as needed to ensure satisfactory project progress
  • Preparing project monthly progress reports

Job Requirements

As a Wastewater Project Engineer, you will have:

  • Required:Civil Engineering degree or related
  • Required:5 or more years of experience in construction management
  • Preferred:California Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Experience with cost estimating, scheduling, construction administration for large industrial facilities, electrical power distribution improvements, pumping plant facility replacements, sewer construction/rehabilitation, and troubleshooting complex problems involving project construction.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
