Job Description

The Senior CAD Designer selected for this opportunity will gain key experience in water systems design. We are looking for a Senior CAD Designer that has 5+ years of experience in water systems CAD design to work hybrid (on-site and remote) and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) in the San Dimas area. 

As a Senior Water System CAD Designer, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops design plans for water system improvement projects using AutoCAD, including water supply systems, distribution pipelines, wells, booster pump stations, treatment facilities, and reservoirs.
  • Ensures that all design plans adhere to sound design principles and meet established Specifications, Standard Drawings, Drafting Standards, and the Approved Material List.
  • Prepares and maintains as-built record drawings for completed projects.
  • Engages in continuous professional development in water industry standards and relevant software tools.
  • Independently designs and lays out complete pipeline projects in accordance with specifications, agency guidelines, and local codes, preparing them for Engineer review.
  • Manages and prioritizes multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines and project requirements.

Job Requirements

As a Senior Water System CAD Designer, you will have:

  • Required: Minimum of 5 years of AutoCAD experience
  • Preferred: Associate of Science degree in Computer Aided Drafting Technology or Bachelor of Science degree
  • Preferred: 5 years of experience as a CAD Designer in water distribution, storage and supply facilities
  • Preferred: Proficiency with GIS applications
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
