Senior Water Engineer / Project Manager
Job Description
The Senior Water Engineer / Project Manager selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in water infrastructure design that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for a Senior Engineer that has 15+ years of experience in water/wastewater utility engineering to work on-site and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) in the Corona area.
As a Senior Water Engineer / Project Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage water utility Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects from planning through design, permitting, bidding, construction, and close-out.
- Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, and funding strategies; track progress to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Lead RFQ/RFP processes and oversee consultant and contractor selection, contract negotiation, and administration.
- Review and approve plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical studies to ensure compliance with agency standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform technical review of water infrastructure projects including pipelines, pump stations, storage facilities, and treatment system improvements.
- Coordinate with operations, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to secure permits, support construction activities, manage change orders and submittals, and minimize service disruptions.
- Prepare reports, staff recommendations, and presentations; respond to customer and stakeholder inquiries related to assigned projects.
Job Requirements
As a Senior Water Engineer / Project Manager, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field
- Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE)
- 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in public works or water/wastewater utility engineering or project management, including design coordination, consultant management, and capital project delivery
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
