Senior Water Design Engineer

Job Description
The Senior Design Engineer selected for this opportunity will gain experience in design for water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after jobs. We are looking for a Senior Engineer that has 10+ years of experience in water project design to work hybrid (on-site and remote) and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) in the San Dimas area.
As a Senior Water Design Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Leads a design team to perform or manage multiple potable water supply, treatment, storage and distribution design projects
- Prepares design plans and specifications
- Plans, directs, assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of all assigned staff, including preparing performance evaluations and career development profiles for all direct reports, as necessary
- Coordinates internal and external resources, including consultants, concerning the timely completion of assigned design projects while working closely with other asset management staff and other internal stakeholders
- Ensures design team meets design schedules and budgets for all assigned water supply and distribution design projects
- Performs QA/QC on design projects by other engineers and consultants
- Engages and manages consultants and reviews invoices
- Reviews submittals and field changes during construction phase
- Performs engineering design services associated with the development of Capital Improvement Programs and related design documents
- Performs engineering design services and/or supervision of design services associated with new business projects
Job Requirements
As a Senior Water Design Engineer, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering
- Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE)
- At minimum, six years of progressively responsible experience in water infrastructure design
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
