Job Description

Project Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with 15+ years of experience in design and construction oversight of high-pressure pump stations to assist our private client in the San Francisco area. The position will be hybrid on-site/remote and full-time or part-time (approximately 30-40 hours per week). 

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide oversight to the design and construction of high-pressure fire flow facilities, such as pump stations, pipeline, and various related equipment.
  • Prepare design documents, calculations, drawings and specifications for mechanical systems.
  • Conduct independent field investigations and collect field data to support design work.
  • Prepare more complex engineering plan clarifications and changes in response to contractor’s request for information during construction of facilities and verify that equipment meets design specifications and/or regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Licensed California Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) is required
  • Experience with design and construction oversight for high pressure fire flow facilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
