Job Description

The Senior Engineer selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in water/wastewater development project review that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for a Civil Engineer that has 10+ years of experience in engineering and project management at a water/wastewater utility to work hybrid (on-site and remote) and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) in the Chino area. 

Projects may include:

  • RP-1 MCB and Old Lab Building Rehabilitation Project
  • Various Development Projects

As a Senior Engineer / Project Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage capital improvement projects from inception to completion with a focus on design and construction phases.
  • Review developer connection requests to water utility’s sewer, recycled water, and non-reclaimed water systems; ensure requests align with water utility’s requirements; confirm capacity of existing infrastructure; issue construction permit and ensure the connection is consistent with approved permit.
  • Plan, assign, supervise, and evaluate the work of staff.
  • Administer the design and preparation of major capital projects utilizing consulting engineering firms or in-house staff.
  • Prepare cost estimates and establish the scope, schedule, and budget for design projects.
  • Monitor construction work in progress, including field investigations, to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and standards.

Job Requirements

As a Senior Engineer / Project Manager, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or related engineering field
  • Required: Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Required: Minimum of 10 years of engineering and project management experience, preferably in a water/wastewater utility
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
