Scheduler / Project Manager

Job Description
The Scheduler selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in scheduling CIP construction and maintenance projects that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for a Project Manager that has 8+ years of experience in schedule management and control to work on-site and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) in the Santa Ana area.
As a Scheduler / Project Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Scheduling duties
- Create and maintain detailed program and project schedules, ensuring alignment with baseline expectations. Regularly update schedules based on project progress.
- Ensure timely communication of schedule status, progress, and delays to internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, departmental representatives, and regulatory agencies.
- Liaison between divisions and sections to ensure comprehensive schedule coordination, identifying potential impacts across projects and adjusting schedules as necessary.
- Review design and construction schedules, update baselines as needed and perform delay impact analysis. Provide recommendations on compensable or non-compensable claims based on schedule changes.
- Identify and manage the critical path for projects, sequencing work to meet deadlines and minimize risks.
- Proactively identify potential schedule risks and delays, providing solutions to minimize impacts on overall project delivery.
- Update schedules based on contract change orders and assess their impact on the project timeline.
- Attend project meetings to provide schedule analysis, offer risk assessments, and set schedule milestones.
Project Management duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain project management plans for various capital improvement and maintenance projects.
- Oversee all project phases, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
- Monitor project budgets, ensuring financial resources are allocated appropriately and projects are completed within the assigned budget.
- Oversee a diverse project team and serve as the primary point of contact between the project management team and stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and internal divisions.
- Ensure all project activities comply with applicable regulations, standards, and best practices.
Job Requirements
As a Scheduler / Project Manager, you will have:
- Required: Minimum of 8 years of project management experience, with a focus on project scheduling, construction management, or public works projects.
- Required: Experience with scheduling software, including Microsoft Project or similar tools.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Ability to work across various teams and manage a high volume of concurrent projects.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including budget and resource management.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
