Job Description

Project Partners is seeking an experienced Public Works Construction Inspector with at least 5 years of experience to assist our public client in the Montclair area. The position will be on-site and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week). 

The Public Works Construction Inspector duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviews plans and specifications of assigned public works projects and inspects all phases for conformance.
  • Consults with engineering staff regarding problems and change alternatives.
  • Prepares and maintains daily inspection reports, progress payments, change orders, claims, and other written documentation.
  • Reviews contractor’s quantities of completed work for monthly payment.
  • Projects may include street improvements, park upgrades, alley improvements, and other general public works projects.

Job Requirements

The Public Works Construction Inspector will have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing construction inspection on public works projects
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
