Job Description
The I&C Engineer selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in instrumentation and controls design that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for an I&C Engineer that has 10+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls design for wastewater treatment facilities to work hybrid (on-site and remote) and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) in the Playa Del Rey area.
As an I&C Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in developing, designing, and evaluating conventional and computer-based systems of control for the regulation, operation, and monitoring of functions, such as wastewater treatment
- Prepare design specifications, material lists, and requisitions
- Select, size, and prepare ISA data sheets for field instruments
- Review manufacturers and contractors’ submittals for conformance with design specifications and negotiate changes to accomplish the desired objective
- Review and inspect the fabrication, installation, and checkout of control facilities
- Monitor the startup of control facilities and debugging procedures, making adjustments to assure proper operation
- Investigate the operations of existing control systems to determine the cause of failures and recommend engineering changes necessary to prevent the recurrence of such failures
- Prepare reports and recommendations
Job Requirements
As an I&C Engineer, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE) in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering
- Ability to select, size, and prepare ISA data sheets for field instruments, in addition to other I&C duties
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
