Job Description

Project Partners is seeking an experienced GIS Technician with 3-5 years of experience digitizing maps with GIS to assist our public client in the Los Angeles area. The position will be remote and part-time (approximately 10-15 hours per week). 

The GIS Technician duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with a team to implement moderately complex Geographic Information System (GIS) project to facilitate the development a GIS route optimization application for city street sweeping routes
  • Digitize street sweeping routes into city maps using GIS
  • Assist project team to define GIS application to create route maps
  • Editing, updating, and maintaining GIS database

Job Requirements

The GIS Technician will have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in geography/geographic science, geographic information systems, or a related field
  • Experience in ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online
  • At least 3 years of professional experience involving GIS applications on engineering projects
  • Experience with Route Smart, Route Planner or ARC Logistics and Network Analyst is a plus
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
