Job Description
Project Partners is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist with at least 7 years of experience to assist our public client in the Los Angeles area. The position will be hybrid on-site/remote and part-time (approximately 20 hours per week).
Projects require knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Hazardous Waste
- OSHA and Cal OSHA Compliance
- Safety Showers and Eyewash Stations
- Battery Rooms
- Environmental – EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) and California Accidental Release Program
- Fire Code
- Fire Sprinklers and Fire Extinguishers
- Flammable and Combustible Liquids
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise the preparation of compliance deliverables for capital projects, operations, and maintenance activities
- Prepare technical specifications, review design drawings, construction documents, and contractors’ submittals based on the project scope and EHS related specification sections
- Determine applicable regulatory requirements and fire code requirements
- Visit facilities including pipelines, treatment plants, power plants, and pumping plants to conduct evaluations, and determine applicability of Cal-OSHA requirements and fire code
- Visit construction sites for various projects, attend construction meetings, and provide oversight and support to the resident engineer
- Coordinate and visit sites to accompany and provide guidance for consultants to conduct hazardous materials surveys

Job Requirements
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is desired
- Documented training in the following scope of services: hazardous wastes, OSHA and Cal-OSHA, environmental, groundwater, and fire code
- Registration as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Certification, Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC), and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is desired
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
