Job Description
Project Partners is seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager with 15+ years of experience to assist our public client in the Long Beach area. The position will be hybrid on-site/remote and either part-time or full-time (approximately 20-40 hours per week).
The Engineering Design Manager duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Review specifications and engineering designs.
- Provide oversight for design consultant services and deliverables.
- Manage and provide oversight for the work of professional engineering design staff.
- Manage projects related to paving upgrades, road improvements, pipelines, grading, stormdrain facilities, and building upgrades.

Job Requirements
The Engineering Design Manager will have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or related field
- Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE)
- Minimum 15 years of civil engineering experience involving the design and construction of a variety of public works projects
- Experience in managing engineering staff, contractors, and consultants
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
