The Development Engineer selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in plan check and review that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for a Civil Engineer that has 5+ years of experience in development engineering to work hybrid (on-site and remote) and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) in the Jurupa Valley area. 

Projects may include:

• Subdivisions – single and multi-family homes
• Alternate Dwelling Units
• Commercial Development

As a Development Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Represent the public sector agency at pre-submittal meetings with developers to review proposed projects and requirements.
• Coordinate the review and processing of development applications, including researching existing conditions, establishing infrastructure requirements, preparing fee and bonding estimates, reviewing plans, and coordinating required covenants and agreements.
• Evaluate public and private infrastructure plans associated with new development to ensure compatibility with District water and sewer systems and compliance with applicable regulations, codes, standards, and policies.
• Review engineering calculations and plans for water and sewer improvements to verify compliance with local standards and requirements.
• Conduct field investigations and recommend solutions to address technical or infrastructure-related issues.

As a Development Engineer, you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or closely related field
• 5+ years of progressive development engineering experience
• Preferred: Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE)
• Preferred: Experience in a government or public utility
• Knowledge of engineering submittal review from developers and water and sewerage design
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
• Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
