Job Description

Project Partners has exciting upcoming opportunities for Construction Managers to support public sector agencies in delivering essential infrastructure projects across California. These roles offer the chance to contribute to meaningful work in areas such as water and wastewater, public works, transportation, and facility improvement projects that strengthen local communities.

Projects may include:

  • Water or Wastewater systems
  • Public Facilities

As a Construction Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and manage public infrastructure construction projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with design specifications.
  • Coordinate daily activities among contractors, inspectors, engineers, and other project stakeholders to maintain efficient project delivery.
  • Review plans, specifications, and schedules to anticipate and resolve potential issues before they affect project progress.
  • Monitor construction progress, quality, and safety compliance through regular site visits and reports.
  • Track budgets, approve invoices, and manage project documentation to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Facilitate project meetings to communicate updates, identify challenges, and develop solutions collaboratively.
  • Ensure all work complies with Agency standards, regulatory requirements, and approved design documents.
  • Review and process change orders, requests for information (RFIs), and submittals in coordination with design and construction teams.
  • Support the Agency’s project management and engineering staff by providing technical expertise during construction.
  • Coordinate project closeout activities, including punch list completion, final inspections, and acceptance documentation.

Job Requirements

As a Construction Manager, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
  • Preferred: Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification, or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • At minimum 3 years of experience managing public works or infrastructure projects, such as water, wastewater, or facility construction
  • Proficient in common project management tools and software, like Microsoft Project, Primavera, Bluebeam or Procore
  • Preferred: Experience working with or for a public agency
  • Skilled in project scheduling, budget tracking, and construction cost control
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
