Project Partners is seeking an Assistant Engineer to support a capital project team to deliver and complete capital projects for our private client in the Santa Fe Springs area. The position will be on-site and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week). 

The Assistant Engineer duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assists in providing basic planning, design, analytical and engineering support.
• Coordinates construction activities including contact with contractors, field observation or construction work for compliance with contract documents.
• Obtains job numbers for projects, prepares preliminary cost estimates, distributes field checks, completes and submits permit applications, prepares the project closing packages, and cancels projects.
• Inspects work of Contractors as required.
• Prepares project status reports and project schedules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Works under general supervision.

The Assistant Engineer will have:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to read system maps
• Computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets, accounting systems, and databases
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
• Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
