Senior Public Works Project Manager

Job Description
The Project Manager selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in public works CIP project management that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for a Senior Engineer that has 15+ years of experience to work on-site and part-time (approximately 20 hours per week) in the Palmdale area.
As a Senior Public Works Project Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and reviewing RFPs for various professional services.
- Negotiating, administering, and managing agreements for consultant services.
- Managing consultants in the preparation of project specifications and engineering plans.
- Oversee the bidding and construction of various projects, including acting as Project Manager, and supporting professional engineering services.
- Preparing and monitoring the progress of projects against project budgets and schedules.
- Compiling and/or reviewing technical documents, as-built drawings, equipment lists, manuals, and training materials, etc.
- Communicating with other local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, and the general public as required.
- Preparing correspondence and making recommendations on complex technical engineering issues.
- Creating staff reports and providing other needed project management support functions.
Job Requirements
As a Senior Public Works Project Manager, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 15 years of increasingly responsible project management, including significant responsibility for public works projects
- Preferred: Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE) is desired
- Preferred: Project Management certification such as Project Management Institute’s PMP
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
