Civil Engineering Assistant
Job Description
Project Partners is seeking a Civil Engineering Assistant to assist our public client at the Waterworks South Maintenance Area headquarters in Malibu area. The position will be on-site and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week).
The Civil Engineering Assistant duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates utilizing commonly used software applications and specialized engineering software applications such as Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD).
- Assist in field investigations and studies.
- Assist in the preparation of preliminary and final plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a variety of construction and maintenance engineering projects for water facilities.
- Assist in the review of portions of plans for engineering structures prepared by other public agencies or by private firms to determine if they conform to standards and engineering principles.
- Prepare and submit redlines for incorporation into GIS and/or distribution maps.

Job Requirements
The Civil Engineering Assistant will have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering
- Experience with Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) and Geographic Information System (GIS)
- Water/Wastewater Engineering experience is a plus
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
