    <![CDATA[Civil Engineer - Water Plan Check]]> Project Partners is seeking an interim water plan checker to assist a local municipality with advanced water system Plan Checking.  This position is ideal for a retiree or any individual interested in establishing a water engineering career in the public sector.  The selected engineer will assist with the following duties:

    • Perform reviews and plan checking of submittal documents for permit applications for construction, alteration, or repair of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings for compliance with city municipal codes and standards. 
    • Analyze the impact of the new projects on the city’s water distribution system capacity.
    • Calculate the plan checking and construction inspection fees for the new water. Improvements. 
    • Answer questions and provide information to the public, contractors, consultants; investigates issues and recommends corrective actions to resolve issues.
    • Prepare plan review reports or comment sheets noting plan deficiencies.
    • Review the materials submittals provided by the contractors for the construction of proposed water mains and services.
    • Other related duties as required.

    <![CDATA[Engineering Technician]]> Project Partners has an immediate need for an experienced Engineering Technician to serve a client in the LA area. Our ideal candidate will be familiar with public works engineering projects, particularly field assessment and/or inspection and have strong mathematical reasoning abilities. This position will consist of approximately 25% office work and 75% field work. The selected individual will assess sidewalk condition (damage or cracks) for ADA compliance by taking measurements and reporting findings of sidewalks spanning whole city blocks.

    The Engineering Technician must able to be on their feet for most of the day and walk for extended periods of time. They will work with a Measuring Wheel and Smart Level to take measurements and record data regarding slopes of curb ramps and crack height to determine whether sidewalk replacement is required. The selected individual will also visit sites after the sidewalk has been replaced to verify compliance.
